Vigil for Lovinsky Pierre-Antoine Wednesday 17 June 5-6pm Brazilian Embassy, 32 Green St, London W1 (Nr Marble Arch Tube station) |
| Weekly Vigil for our dear friend Lovinsky Pierre-Antoine, the disappeared Haitian human rights activist, kidnapped 12 August 2007.
Part of global efforts including weekly vigils in Haiti, and regular actions in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Guyana and elsewhere pressing for the safe return of Lovinsky Pierre-Antoine.
Lovinsky is founder of Fondasyon 30 Septanm and a beloved advocate for those who have least, starting with women and children. He was kidnapped in August 2007, two weeks after he announced he would run for the Senate in Haiti.
As we call for Lovinsky’s return, we also support the Haitian grassroots in their demand for the return of President Aristide and an end to the UN occupation in Haiti. We stand with others resisting occupation –Iraq, Afghanistan, Tamil Eelam, Haiti, Palestine … Occupation is the Crime. The London Vigil joined the Tamil Eelam protest in Parliament Square demanding an end to the genocide, and Tamil protesters have regularly attended the Vigil.
