Witness to Broken Promises in Haiti

PORT AU PRINCE, HAITI. What if one of our notorious Hoosier storms violently destroyed your entire neighborhood, killing scores, and leaving you and your neighbors homeless and penniless?

Imagine that the immediate reaction to this disaster was inspiring, with celebrity-packed telethons being broadcast, leaders of state pledging to rebuild, and rich and poor alike donating to your recovery.

But a year and a half later, you are still homeless. You live in a fetid squatter’s camp made of plastic sheets, scraps of wood, and open sewers. There is no clear plan for you to be relocated to permanent housing, yet you are now slated to be forcibly evicted from even these meager quarters.

You are Haiti.

All is going as planned. Break the back of the peoples of Haiti so they will not resist being little more then a source of slave labor for their Corporate masters. Ensure that when the country looted for its mineral resources by foreign Corporations there little to no resistance so as to maximize profits.

Faire en sorte que quand les ressources minières du pays sertont pillées par les entreprises étrangères, il y aura peu ou pas de réisstance afin de maximiser les profits.

The author is too focused on what was pledged by the Worlds leaders and not enough on what those same leaders want as an outcome.

L’auteur s’est trop orienté sur les promesses faites par les dirigeants du monde et pas sur ce que ces leaders programment.

That outcome has nothing to do with the well being of the people of Haiti.

Ce programme n’a rien à voir avec le bien-être des gens en Haïti.

Haiti is one of the clearest reasons I believe those people have a RIGHT to migrate to the same nations that plunder them for their wealth, even if done as "Illegal Immigrants".

Haïti est une des raisons les plus évidentes qui me permet de penser que ces gens ont le DROIT d’émigrer dans les mêmes pays qui pillent leurs richesses même quand ils le font en tant qu’émigrés illégaux

Quite frankly Haiti would be far better off with less of the sort of help and aid the West has been providing . That aid comes with chains attached .

· Franchement, Haïi se porterait bien mieux avec moins de cette sorte d’aide que l’Occidet lui apporte. Cette aide arrive attachée avec des chaînes.

Mon commentaire perso, c’est que je connais au moins deux personnes en France qui ont pondu avec régularité depuis les années 1980, quantité de rapports sur Haïti. Rapports qui, si ils n’ont pas profité au pays, auront permis à ces personnes d’investir dans l’immobillier en France.
