I never have understood why Americans are so Patriotic about their country when their country treats them so incredibly badly.
No free health care, lousy employment conditions, poor minimum wages, toxic environmental policies, death penalties, highest incarceration rates, rampant racism, and a poor education system.

Je n'ai jamais compris pourquoi les Américains étaient aussi patriotes quand leur pays les traite aussi incroyablement mal.
Pas de sécurité sociale, des conditions de travail déplorables, un salaire minimum pauvre, des politiques environnementales toxiques, un taux d'incarcération le plus élevé du monde, racisme rampant et un système d'éducation pauvre.
On pourrait dire autant à propos du nationalisme des Haïtiens.

Indoctrination. American exceptionalism. They taught us less than half of the real history. They taught Am revolution > civil war > ww2 > present day. Skipped the 68 riots, skipped the red summer of 19, skipped the filibuster wars the Phillipines war the invasions of south america the banana wars. The installation of pinochet the coup in iran '53. The annexation of guam hawaii the nuclear tests castle bravo bikini atoll, the school curriculum skipped all of it. I only learned about that stuff after graduating, and much of it just isn't common knowledge in the US
