An exuberant player with a meaty, “swaggering sound” (Ben Ratliff, New York Times), Haitian-born tenor sax player "Buyu" Ambroise appears at BAMcafé Live with The Red Band, churning out seamless mixtures of jazz and polyrhythmic Afro-Haitian folksong that ultimately capture the best of both sonic worlds.
