Haiti's government has brought suit against 35 collaborators of former President Jean-Claude Duvalier, who was ousted in 1986, accusing them of stealing public money. According to a justice ministry spokesman, among those charged are Duvalier's mother and sisters, his former wife Michele Bennett and her father, and Duvalier Cabinet ministers Theodore Achille, Jean-Marie Chanoine, Jean-Robert Estime and Frantz Merceron. Earlier lawsuits have recovered funds stolen by the Duvalier family, but this is the first against their collaborators.
