Violated: Woman Endures Six Hours of Multiple, Pointless, Redundant, Increasingly Invasive Body Searches (aka Rape) At Border and Gets Charged $5,000 For Them, Because Drug War!

A traumatized New Mexico woman has filed a federal lawsuit against El Paso border officers and medical officials who, after she was randomly selected and targeted by a drug-sniffing dog, frisked and strip-searched her, stuck their fingers inside her vagina and rectum, took her handcuffed to a nearby hospital where they again searched her vagina (speculum and fingers) and rectum (fingers), gave her a laxative and observed her forced bowel movement, and X-rayed her abdomen and pelvis. They had no warrant and did not let her see an attorney, though she asked for both. Then, having declined to sign a medical consent form, possibly because she was crying so hard, she was charged $5,000 for the examinations. This is not the first report of similar actions by border officials. Oh yes, and they found no drugs. No "evidence of any illegal activity." Nada. 'Cause 'murica.
