Reading Critically Through Stories of Haiti contains a collection of stories and poems written by a storytellers and poets as well as stories written about Haiti and its people. It serves as a new approach to teaching literature with emphasis on Haitian story and culture. The student book and teacher's manual present each piece of literature with pre-reading, guided reading, post-reading and writing activities. The activities focus on the use of graphic organizers and critical thinking exercises to assist in the study and analysis of each text. The stories and poems, themselves, shed light on the extraordinary beauty and power of Haiti.! Sincerely, Fequiere Vilsaint | | | About Author | | Annette Scalzo holds a B. A.
