Ca y est, les premières femmes issues de la paysannerie haïtienne sont parties.

Elles reviendront de l'Université des pieds nus en Inde avec un savoir en énegie solaire.

Nos premières femmes ingénieures paysannes. Woahou !

Leur formation durera 6 mois.

C'est totalement merveilleux et on doit cette réussite à un groupe déterminé, dont Erzulie Danto, Marguerite Laurent, avocate infatigable du droit des Haïtiens à vivre libre et heeureux dans leur pays.

Nous leur souhaitons, à ces pionnières, une belle réussite et qu'elle nous revienennent au pays, fortes de ce nouveau savoir, pour électifier leurs communes.

to Sept 29, 2012/ The Dream of a lifetime begins for four Haiti mothers, two
villages

Dear Friends;

We're happy to report that our first four rural mothers from Haiti (First Zili
Dlo solar engineer team) boarded a plane for the first time in their lives on
Sept. 29, 2012. The women have safely arrived in India for their 6-months
solar energy/clean water training.

Thank you to all who helped HLLN/Zili Dlo accomplish this endeavor with Bunker
Roy's Barefoot College in Tilonia, Rajasthan. Especially Zili Dlo directors
and team in Haiti led by Rea Dol at SOPUDEP. It was an amazing journey and
many hands came together to get this done in the best of Haitian ways.(Watch

The four Zili Dlo/Barefoot college mothers are from the abandoned rural
mountains of Fon Batis (Kay Pierre, 7th Section), Arcahaie and Okadè (6th
Section, Aux Cadet) Laferierre, Petionville.

Magalie Luc (35 years old, 4 children), Madeleine Saint Louis (35yrs old - 6
children ) are from Okadè and Marie Ilma Meriste (44yrs old from- 4 children),
Marie Andrea Saint Felix (48yrs old - 3 children) are from Fon Batis ), Arcahaie.

These mothers are simple market women and peasant farmers - the backbone of Haiti's informal economy and of Haiti. They are the leaders in Haiti most in need of authentic help to raise up the living standards for their communities and provide a sustainable future for their children, families and Haiti as a whole.

Zili Dlo/HLLN thanks the Indian government and Barefoot College visionary, Bunker Roy, for providing this program for non-schooled rural peasant mothers.

When our Zili Dlo rural mothers return to Haiti six-months from now ( in March, 2013), they will own a useful life skill, a practical and relevant entrepreneurial job that meets their needs and Haiti's urgent domestic needs. Our Haiti mothers will operate a mini-power plant that produces 320W per hour, electrify their villages with green energy, provide electric solar power for lighting and producing clean water at their mountain villages.
