De sorte qu'on ne devrait pas être étonné qu'ABINADER ait lancé de même que TRUMP la construction d'un mur entre les deux pays. Pas étonnant non plus son soutien à JOVENEL, puisque soutenu par les USA et l'OEA d'ALMAGRO. Pas étonnant non plus sa chasse aux émigrés haïtiens s'inscrivant dans la même ligne politique que TRUMP. Le plus contradictoire c'est qu'ABINADER qui a initié une lutte contre la corruption est patronné par un homme, TRUMP, qui a de multiples casseroles liées à la corruption: fraudes fiscales et autres. Cette contradiction laisse peser des doutes sur la sincérité et les objectifs réels de cette lutte. L'avenir dira le reste.

Former President Trump’s designated Ambassador to the Dominican Republic, Robin Bernstein, reportedly connected exceptionally well with Dominican society; while former Secretary of State Michael Pompeo, for his part, emphasized the need for caution toward China during his visit to the Dominican Republic in October 2020.
