SLAYING GOLIATH is a documentary film project directed by husband=2 0and wife team, Michele Stephenson and Joe Brewster. They follow the journey of New York Select, a basketball team from Harlem NY, and their parents as they compete for the AAU National Boys' Fifth Grade title. Through a combination of personal voice narrative from the filmmak ers and cinema verité footage, the high pressure sometimes dysfunctional world of competitive pre-adolescent sport is revealed.
