Much respect to relentless Haiti Activist Marguerite Laurent known by her persona Ezili Danto for winning the 2013 Energy Globe Award for her work providing water for Haiti!! Ezili has shown how internet activism does not and should not be limited to the keyboard, but taken to the streets! A voice more respected and admired outside the confines of gentile elite Haitian society then among those enabling the worst of politics and policies in Haiti, Ezili has been unwavering in her support for the poor and downtrodden Haitian masses while facing the scorn of the more lettered petite-bourgeois classes of Haitian society. To me, anyone who puts the plight of the poor and oppressed Haitian majority above the interests of anyone else deserves some accolade, because frankly that posture is so rare. Salut to Ezili!
