Doris Lessing, the fierce, outspoken, anti-colonialist, tide-turning writer, has died at 94. More on her books, her cranky wisdom, her evolving views on feminism, her persistentskepticism of the Western "we, stuffed full of food, our cupboards full of clothes, stifling in our superfluities," and, in a scrappy, lovely Nobel acceptance speech, her abiding belief in books and their "legacy of languages."
